Maybe it's just the angle... maybe I'll like it better when I see the real thing... but as of right now, I'm not impressed. It's not that I think it's terrible... it's just that it sucks compared to the Imperial Guard valkyrie. I want my Blood Angels stuff to look awesome... and this just ain't cutting it. So much for running one of these... I might kitbash this with a valkyrie and see if I can come up with something that looks better, but I'm definitely not putting this on my tabletop as-is.
Further thoughts here.
I must agree it is a shocking model and im very dissapointed especialy after the work that they have been putting into the new dark eldar that are amaizing (probebly why this sucks so much all good sculptors were doing them.
ReplyDeleteMy personal opinion of it is that its a little too much like its just tried ramming a wall and squashed its nose in, i was expecting something sleek and elegant, the upper turret reminds me of Eldar vehicals and the pilot cockpit again looks stupid.
The saving points of this model are the engins there huge and the air intake behind the turret, basicaly everything behind the turret i like everything infront wants redoing as it looks like the MK1 landraider with a cockpit at the front very disapointing :(

ReplyDeleteThat is EXACTLY what I was thinking, Daniel. And I also agree that what's behind the turret looks fine. Unfortunately, I was so disappointed in the front that I didn't even examine it closely until you mentioned it.

ReplyDeleteNot sure about that one, Jason... they are similar in a lot of ways... but to be honest, I'm not a huge fan of the way the thunderhawk looks either.
