Blood Angels Army List for Tonight

Tonight is game night, and we're playing 40K. I'm glad we're finally getting back into playing again. It had been so long since we played, I spent way too much time last game looking up rules that I had forgotten. Tonight should be another 1000 point three way match like last time, although this time Matt isn't coming and Eric will be taking his spot. That means this battle will be Orks vs Tau vs Blood Angels.

I'll be commanding the Blood Angels, and this is the list I intend to run:

1000 Pts - Blood Angels Roster

HQ: Librarian (1#, 100 pts)
1 Librarian, 100 pts (Blood Lance; Shield of Sanguinius)
      1 Power Armour

Elite: Sanguinary Priest (2#, 150 pts)
   1 Sanguinary Priest, 150 pts
1 Sanguinary Priest in Power Armour (Power Sword)
1 Sanguinary Priest in Terminator Armour

Troops: Assault Squad (9#, 380 pts)
6 Assault Squad, 380 pts (Remove Jump Packs)
1 Assault Marine with Meltagun (Remove Jump Packs)
1 Sergeant (Remove Jump Packs; Bolt Pistol; Close Combat Weapon)
1 Land Raider Redeemer (Multi-Melta; Searchlight)

Troops: Assault Squad (6#, 136 pts)
3 Assault Squad, 136 pts (Remove Jump Packs)
1 Assault Marine with Meltagun (Remove Jump Packs)
1 Sergeant (Melta Bombs; Remove Jump Packs; Bolt Pistol; Close Combat Weapon)
      1 Razorback (Searchlight)

Heavy Support: Devastator Squad (9#, 234 pts)
7 Devastator Squad, 234 pts (Missile Launcher x4)
      1 Sergeant (Bolt Pistol; Bolter)
      1 Razorback (Searchlight)

I'm actually missing my two favorite units from this list (my terminator assault squad and my honour guard), but I think this list is fairly balanced. It has long range firepower in the form of missile launchers as well as the traditional close combat strength of Blood Angels. I learned from my last battle with these guys and tossed a few extra guys into the devastator squad so that every single unsaved wound didn't mean the loss of a heavy weapon.

The terminator priest will go in the land raider with the bigger assault squad, while the librarian will join the smaller one and stay close enough to be in the FNP bubble. The regular priest will join the devastator squad. He may seem like a waste back there, but my gaming crew seems to hate my devastators with a passion and I figure they'll get a lot of attention. Keeping them alive might be the key to victory, whether that means they actually do tons of damage over the course of the game or they just absorb a lot of firepower that would be killing my other guys.

As usual, I'll be taking pics tonight and posting a report later on this week...
